Feasts and Fireworks

A few evenings ago Ken and I enjoyed our last dinner
on the old, white patio furniture...

On the menu was grilled green peppers, zucchinis, onions and mushrooms,
honey and Indian spiced marinaded chicken,
Mexican style corn on the cob (Ken likes his with mayo, chili powder and lime, I'm ok with just a lil salt and butter ;)
And grill steamed chopped red potatoes with garlic and onions
(Those are hiding in the foil)

Steven Raichlen would be proud of those grill marks.

A blurry pic of the grill master
(thanks to evening light,
and an oooold camera)

Topping it off with our new favorite beer, Trouble Brewing Amber Ale
really hit the spot.

A few days later we hit up the Park Ridge country club for some holiday fireworks.
Inconspicuous, of course,
only because we just don't have the extra 50 thousand dollars to actually JOIN
the country club, if you can imagine.

But the view from the golf course was just right ;)

We left the little one at home this year.

We found out the hard way that fireworks are
not really
her cup of tea.

Surprising, yes.

Because with how much she barks, you'd think she really enjoyed
extremely
loud
noises.
