'Cause I be dan-cin'
'Cause I be dan-cin'
Tonight I'm not takin' no calls
'Cause I be dancin!
Mark Lerro, one of the co-owners of Urban Lotus Yoga studio which hosted the hoop jam this past Saturday just uploaded this clip. I had no idea any video got shot, so that's a nice surprise. :)
It's definately been a hoopy week. Last night was the Hoop Path workshop over at Visceral Dance Studio, which is such an awesome space (I feel like I've been saying that about every new place I visit lately, but its true). It was so big and open with probably 30 foot ceilings, and Baxter was such a refreshing leader. There were probably 15 people who attended, all of them great dancers. It was shocking to me how quickly the community was able to spread the word and make these workshops (there's another one tomorrow) a success.
We did a lot of sensory work, using blindfolds while dancing, and it really opens you up to movement you might not have considered using your eyes as a guide. It's definately got me thinking of new techniques to conquer. Was worth every moment.
I'll leave you with this cute choreographing of Telephone by this group in .... Georgia? I think?
It's awesome.
