There is construction going on at the ol' homestead!
Back in November Mister J and I gave some thought to making the house a bit greener by re-doing some windows in our living room and dining room, which probably hadn't been updated since the 50's (when the house was built). Who knows how much heat was sneaking out through the cracks and jacking the utility bills!
But now, as I type this, men are hard at work.

We decided to go with a bay instead of the regular straight up and down windows as to possibly make more room for plants. We figure the orchids will line the window, so that there will be plenty of space for the philodendron (so massive), and all the others.
So excited to see the finished product, however I'll have to wait until I get home from class tonight after 11!
Speaking of training class, today, I believe, is our first official fitness assessment. This has got me all sorts of nervous and I am dreading going in today. Since the days of elementary school I have always hated gym fitness assessment day!
How many situps can you do in 3 minutes, how fast can you run a mile, how far can you stretch, you know THOSE kinds of assessments. UGH. I hope its not quite like that. I'm really not in the mood and would much rather be home making hoops tonight to be honest. I am WAY behind on orders and have about 9 to make.
In other "making" news, my girl Colleen came over on Saturday and we had another sewing session which unfortunately was not entirely productive, but afterward I forced myself to buckle down and get something DONE, so that we could make more progress next sew session. And this is what I ended up with. A pretty cute apron!

I feel like this is only the start of an awesome new hobby.
Although, I can't really handle anymore hobbies at the moment.
I barely have enough time to sleep these days.
Catching up on Jersey Shore?
Forgetaboutit!!
It's hard to even believe that only 8 days ago I was on WGN news hooping at 7am in the morning. That had to be one of the most fun things ever! Met and danced with some awesome new people. Got good advice. Worked up a sweat. And then went out for a nice group breakfast at Hollywood Grill in the city. Hadn't been there in 4-Ev-or.
It feels like so much time has passed. I guess that just goes to show how much more I am trying to cram into the average day this year. Time is creepin. And hey that's not so bad... in the SUMMER.
Ahhh Summer. I hope you don't forget about me. I haven't forgotten about you.
One day we'll be together again.
